Rewriting the stories we were told about womanhood

It’s Time to Get Body Literate

Do you know when you ovulate? It’s probably not on day 14 of your cycle. If you are pregnant, how do you picture yourself giving birth? Most women give birth on their backs, but this is usually far from the best position.

I grew up hearing the same narratives most of us are familiar with. Discovering Fertility Awareness methods completely changed how I viewed my body and the biology behind it.

The female body isn’t an anomaly, and our hormones are not random. They’re important for long-term health, and they play off each other during labor to help us bring the next generation into the world.

I’m a sensiplan® educator and training to become a doula (birth coach). I’d love to help you reclaim your fertility, whether you’re childfree for life or trying for a family of 20.

It’s a bit off the beaten path, but that makes it all the more fun!

Give Birth Your Way

Our bodies are fully capable of giving birth, but we have always had support during labor. As a birth coach (a doula), I will be with you from the moment you call me until the baby is born.

I’m based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Even in this country, famous for its high percentage of home births, doulas are being recognized as an integral part of the care team.

While midwives sometimes need to transfer care to medical staff, and hospitals have shift changes, your doula is your constant companion.

I can help you find comfortable positions, provide counterpressure, and help you communicate with your care providers.

Having lived in Japan myself, I know how challenging it can be to navigate cultural and language barriers. That’s why I specialize in serving families who’ve moved to the Netherlands from abroad.

Reclaiming Our Fertility

Are you looking for a way to avoid pregnancy? Or are you on the opposite end and trying to conceive?

I’m trained in the sensiplan® method, which can be used to avoid pregnancy or identify the optimal fertile window in each menstrual cycle.

It’s a reliable method, with effectiveness rates similar to hormonal birth control. This makes it a great alternative if you want to avoid disrupting your cycle and get to know your body better.

Understanding your fertility will also be a big bonus if you’re trying for a baby. You’ll learn to spot an approaching ovulation and get the timing right without relying on tests.
